Custom Merch With Your Brands

Ryan Merch made it easy to present your logo perfectly

13 Printing Methods for Your Products

Ryan Merch offers multiple printing options for different textile materials. Choose the right method to make your logos, brands, and patterns stand out.

Screen Printing

Screen printing uses a stencil to apply ink to a surface. A squeegee pushes ink through the open areas of the stencil onto the item.

screen printing

Features

Bright colors with strong coverage. Resistant to washing and fading. Works well for large orders. It can be used on cotton, polyester, and denim. Long-lasting prints.

Applications

T-shirts and hoodies. Canvas bags. Corporate uniforms and school uniforms. General logo printing.

White Ink Heat Transfer Printing

First, a white ink layer is printed as the base. Then, color patterns are overlaid on top. Finally, the design is heat-pressed onto the fabric.

White ink heat transfer printing

Features

Bright colors with clear edges. Works on any base color. Can be printed on dark fabrics. Can be stored before transfer. Works well for remote transfer printing.

Applications

Streetwear T-shirts. Large-batch custom patterns. Complex patterns on black or colored fabrics.

Plastisol Printing

This method uses PVC-based plastisol for screen printing. The pattern sits on top of the fabric surface, creating a noticeable thickness and a glossy finish.

Plastisol printing

Features

Rich, glossy colors. Very durable and resists cracking. Can be combined with high-density mesh for detailed designs.

Applications

Logos, text, and icons. Streetwear styles. Designs that need a thick, textured look.

Water-based Ink Printing

A water-based dye printing method. Water-based paste is applied to the fabric using screen printing. The dye penetrates the fibers, creating a thin, breathable pattern.

Water based ink printing

Features

The pattern blends with the fabric and does not feel thick. Very breathable and comfortable in summer. Naturally creates a vintage look that softens slightly after washing. Has a very soft, natural feel and the printed area feels the same as the fabric; you cannot feel the pattern when touching it. Works best on light-colored fabrics with darker ink colors (the ink must be darker than the fabric for the color to show).

Applications

Artistic pure cotton T-shirts. Pajamas and homewear. Baby clothing. Fresh illustration T-shirts. Group event shirts for large batches.

Discharge Printing

A special printing method that uses chemical agents to remove the base color of the fabric, while applying color to specific areas at the same time.

Discharge printing

Features

Breathable and soft, with no sticky feel. Maintains the original texture of the fabric. Creates a vintage look with a natural faded effect. Can print light-colored patterns on black or dark fabrics. Only removes the base color to create white (not pure white, slightly yellowish). The printed area feels the same as the fabric; you cannot feel the pattern when touching it.

Applications

Trendy T-shirts with brand slogans. Vintage denim. Band merchandise with dark, distressed patterns.

Silicone Heat Transfer Printing

A printing method that transfers silicone patterns onto clothing or fabric using heat pressing. It combines raised texture with fine detail.

Silicone heat transfer printing

Features

Safe and non-toxic. High elasticity. Resistant to stretching and slipping. Waterproof and washable. Resistant to stains and wear. Works in high and low temperatures. Weather-resistant and long-lasting. Colors stay bright and do not fade.

Applications

Elastic logos on yoga pants and running T-shirts. 3D raised patterns on streetwear T-shirts and hoodies. Durable labels on outdoor gear.

Digital Direct Printing

Similar to inkjet printing. The image is sprayed directly onto the fabric, and the ink is absorbed by the fibers.

Digital direct printing

Features

Works well for complex, gradient, and colorful patterns. No plate making needed. Fast and flexible for small batches. Uses safe, eco-friendly water-based inks.

Applications

Personalized custom T-shirts. Cultural and creative products. Apparel with multi-color, anime, or illustration-style patterns.

Foam Printing

A foaming agent is added to the paste. After printing, the design is heated and expands, creating a raised pattern.

Foam printing

Features

Raised texture. Soft and stretchy. Strong visual and tactile effect. Can create raised and lowered areas within the design.

Applications

Streetwear and children's clothing. Playful style apparel. 3D letters and cartoon-style patterns. Creative logo printing.

Flocking Printing

Small fibers are applied to an adhesive pattern on the fabric. The fibers stick to the pattern, creating a raised, velvety texture.

Flocking printing

Features

Soft, raised texture. Strong visual and tactile effect. Durable and washable. Can create smooth, velvety surfaces.

Applications

Text and logos that need a soft, raised feel. Luxury and high-end apparel. Designs where a velvety texture is desired.

Reflective Printing

Reflective materials (such as glass beads or reflective inks) are applied to the fabric. When light hits the print, it reflects back, making it highly visible.

Reflective printing

Features

Highly visible in low light or when light hits it. Improves safety and visibility. Durable and washable. Works well for logos and text that need to stand out.

Applications

Safety apparel and workwear. Sports and athletic wear. Logos and text that need high visibility. Night-time or low-light apparel.

Cracked Printing

A special resin paste is used to create a natural cracked effect on the fabric.

Cracked printing

Features

Strong artistic appeal. Distinct retro style. Unique and personalized look.

Applications

Trendy jeans. Punk-style jackets. Personalized T-shirts.

Embossed Printing

A physical pressing technique. High temperature and high pressure press patterns from a metal mold onto fabric, creating a permanent raised and lowered 3D effect.

Embossed printing

Features

3D tactile effect with clear raised and lowered patterns. Durable and resists washing and rubbing. Colorless, using light and shadow to show texture. Works well on thick fabrics like denim, leather, and canvas.

Applications

T-shirts and brand logos on collars and cuffs. Workwear and uniform identification. Decoration for high-end denim and leather apparel.

Foil Printing

Metal foil is transferred onto clothing using high-temperature pressing, creating a metallic look such as gold, silver, or holographic.

Foil printing

Features

Metallic visual effect. Strong adhesion and resists fading or peeling. Good wear and scratch resistance. Works on many types of fabrics.

Applications

Trendy T-shirts with metallic elements. Performance wear and event apparel. Limited edition holiday items with metallic accents.

6 Embroidery Methods for Your Products

Ryan Merch offers multiple embroidery options. We help your logo stand out on products.

Applications

Delicate patterns on shirt cuffs and collars. Corporate logo embroidery. Decorative patterns on items like pillowcases and tablecloths. Brand identification on accessories such as hats and bags.

Towel Embroidery

Towel embroidery creates a three-dimensional loop effect. It gets its name from the fluffy, towel-like texture. It is widely used in sportswear, trendy apparel, and children's clothing to enhance the tactile and visual impact of designs.

A decorative technique that attaches cut fabric pieces onto a base fabric, then uses embroidery to secure and add detail.

Applique Embroidery

Features

Color and texture contrast. Flexible design options. Works with any shape or size. Fabric pieces can be cut into geometric shapes, text, or complex patterns. Allows creative combinations.

Applications

Children's clothing: durable and lively cartoon patterns. Streetwear: elbow patches on denim jackets, brand logos, and cushions.

Toothbrush Embroidery

A three-dimensional embroidery technique. It uses special stitching methods and post-processing to create upright, fluffy, and elastic three-dimensional line effects.
